Operation "Atzeret HaDin"

The name "Atzeret HaDin" literally means "Day of Judgment", referring to the holiday of Shemini Atzeret,3 Israel said the attack was in response to the October 7 attacks and the Ramot Junction shooting the previous day,4 The attack killed 6 lower-ranking people.5

Reactions

- Houthis: Mahdi al-Mashat, head of the Houthi Supreme Political Council, said Arab and Muslim countries must “pay attention” to Israel’s plans before it is too late.6

- France: French President Emmanuel Macron said in a post on X that the attack against Qatar is “unacceptable, whatever the reason may be”.6

- Hamas: Hamas described the attack as “a heinous crime, a blatant aggression, and a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws”.6

- Syria: Damascus condemned the attacks in Doha as "a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of the State of Qatar."6

- United States: The U.S. military notified the Trump administration that Israel was attacking Hamas, which "very unfortunately was located in a section of Doha, the capital of Qatar."6

- Vatican City: Pope Leo XIV called the strike a "very serious situation."7
