What happened to Abbas Shield Martyrdom Forces?

The Abbas Shield Martyrdom Forces was a militant group that threatened the United States and Syria in March 2025.

The question arises: what has happened after a year of inactivity?

Background

The Abbas Shield Martyrdom Forces was a pro-Shiite group, that operated in Iraq. Led by Karar Fatah al Subihawi, the group together with Ya Ali Popular Formations and the Kataib Sarkhat al-Quds have threatened to take action in Syria and against the United States. The group attacked a Syrian convoy on the border with Lebanon, for which it was accused of having links with Hezbollah.

Inactivity

Following the events in March, 2025, the group remained and remains inactive.

At the end of 2025, the group showed no activity in its Telegram group.

Following the 2026 Israeli-American bombings in Iran, and the dead of Ali Khamenei, the Telegram group changed its name to "Khamenei's Sons" (Arabic: ابناء الخامنئي), leaving behind any identity of the group.

Following that, in March the name was changed to "Al-Nujaba Baghdad Al-Rusafa Office" (Arabic: النجباء مكتب بغداد الرصافة) noting that the group swore allegiance to "The Nujaba Movement", a Shi'ite Iraqi paramilitary group.

Conclusion
The group failed to capitalize on its popularity in March 2025 and form a "resistance" group in Syria. Then, after a year of inactivity, the group would swear allegiance to The Nujaba Movement.
