Today Israel has carried out attacks near Damascus, and what happened?

Background

These attacks come after clashes in Suwayda with Druze and Bedouin tribes.

Airstrikes

Three warplanes attacked a dozen locations, including Mount Al-Mani'a, near the city of Harjala in the Al-Kiswah area, and the Druze village of Deir Ali, on the southern outskirts of Damascus,1 killing 8 soldiers.2

Ground offensive

The ground offensive began in Quneitra where Israeli forces intervened Jamous Company facilities, in the city of Al-Nasiriya.3

An Israeli army unit carried out an air landing on a strategic hill southwest of Damascus and carried out a two-hour operation before leaving the area.4

They also attacked a former military base in Tal Maneh near Al Kiswah, being one of the first of its kind since the fall of Assad.5

IDF lieutenant killed in accidental explosion

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the death of 1st Lieutenant Ori Gerlic on August 23, 2025 following an accidental explosion. 1 ,  2 Biography He was born in Meitar and served as a platoon commander in the Shimshon Battalion of the Kfir Brigade at the age of 20. 3 Photo by Ori Gerlic provided by the IDF. 4 Accident involving explosives The crash killed Sgt. Did D4vd commit murder? Celeste case explained

On September 8, musical artist David Burke, also known as d4vd, the body of a 15-year-old girl was found in the back of his car.
